Over the last decade many countries in Africa have experienced rapid economic growth with the demand for skilled labour far exceeding supply leading to a huge skills shortage. Many countries and organisations within Africa are now seeking to develop their workforce using foreign Consultancy organisations such as MPA. 

Ghana

MPA began its business dealing in African in 2005 in the nation of Ghana in West Africa. Ghana is a country on the economic rise; it has twice the per capita output of the poorer countries in West Africa and an array of natural resources (cocoa, diamond, bauxite etc) that if used correctly over time could see them rise to high levels of Japan, a country resource-poorer than Ghana.

Michael A Potter visited Ghana in May 2005. During his visit several large organisations expressed an interest in Management Training courses and workshops. MPA is currently discussing future co-operations with Standard Chartered Bank, Brookes Services, The HRM Institute of Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

In 2007, MPA established the Michael A. Potter Bursary Award for outstanding achievement of students studying at the Ghana branch of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners in order to encourage students to have the determination to pursue to the professional stage.

Students who achieve high grades in their Foundation Stage will be put forward for the Michael A Potter Bursary Award will then be interviewed in person by Michael A Potter who will travel to Ghana for the process and award ceremony for the successful candidates

April 2008 saw Michael A. Potter return to Ghana to present his Global Talent Management paper to over 200 delegates from organizational sectors across Ghana. Furthermore, the visit extended the relationships between MPA and Ghanaian based organisations and explored joint-ventures and talent sharing proposal for the next three years.
