Germany
MPA Consulting first entered into the European market through an invitation for Michael A Potter to present a paper at the North European Exchange Meeting (NEEM) 2004 held in Berlin. The presentation of Michael A Potter's 'World Series' paper "The HR implications of the Enlargement of the EEC" was a huge success with great interest from European organisations concerning the issues Mike raised in the presentation.
Bulgaria
The success of Michael A Potter's presentation at the 2004 NEEM Conference in Berlin led to an invitation to present at The Eastern European Exchange Meeting (EEEM) attended by numerous delegates representing organisations from a variety of Eastern European countries.
Following on from the success of the Presentation at EEEM, Michael A Potter was invited to be a guest speaker at the Bulgarian Human Resource and Management Development Association. He presented his paper entitled "The HR implications of the Enlargement of the EEC" addressing the issues that would arise from the enlargement of the EEC, with the introduction new countries bringing new workers and methods of practice.
The event was another great success and an enjoyable cultural experience. The visit resulted in the development of several industry contacts and new business relationship for MPA.
Finland
In 2004, Michael A Potter was contracted by Finish organisation Tapio to conduct a Mentoring and Coaching workshop. The event was held in beautiful Helsinki at the Tapio training centre aimed at developing the understanding of mentoring in the workplace and equipping delegates with the necessary tools to aid good mentoring practice. The coaching session focused on developing a range of skills required for effective coaching and performance management.
MPA has continued to build links in Finland, recruiting Finish students from the BusinessSchool at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, through our Industrial and European Placement schemes, which aims to place students who are studying at European (EEC) Universities with British companies.
The year 2008 saw MPA expand further in Eastern Europe. Michael A. Potter was selected to present his ‘Key HR Challenges: Expanding the EU' paper at ‘See HR Summit’ in held Bucharest in May by the Stamford Global. His presentation was developed in response to the demands of the HR sector and how to retain staff during a period migration of Eastern European workiers in this growing South East European region.
Through networking, MPA has built a small, but steady foundation of partners and contacts to establish a presence within Romania and neighbouring countries. Future visit are planned to enhance these relationship and provide critical coaching for organisations with performance management requirements.
